Montreal - Round Things

We went to Gibeau Orange Julep where the oft-imitated beverage was invented.

We went to the Biosphere, a museum about the environment.

The Biosphere is a building inside a dome. The dome was originally built for Expo 67.

Inside the dome--another dome!
The Montreal skyline through the dome.

The top floor is an outdoor area where you can see beautiful views of the city or just sit inside that smaller dome.

Then we went for pizza.

Montreal - Mount Royal

The Mount Royal is a little mountain for which the town is named.

By the time you get to the steps that go up the Mount Royal, you've already climbed a lot of hills.

There's a cool bronze map with a "Vous etes ici" arrow.

We took a break at the top and I drew a comic.

I drew the stairs wrong, but whatever.

The view from the top is astonishing.
If that's not enough, there's the most weathered piano for people to play.

The steps are easier going down.

Montreal - Gay Village

There is a whole section of town called the Gay Village. The streets are mostly closed off to traffic so pedestrians can walk on them.

Giant strings of beads form a rainbow canopy that runs for several blocks.

Pepsi pride.

There is a cool outdoor art gallery.

This whole part of town has lots of outdoor art.

The beads are really pretty from above.

Montreal - Other Stuff

Les Sharks sont everywheres!

There's a mix of old and new architecture.

This looks like a building was excised. I thought it looked cool.

Chinatown is pretty.

It's small and tidy.

Montreal - Death

Luna led us here.

We went to another cemetery that had decidedly creepy graves.

Montreal - Art

We almost got clobbered by these things! Luckily people here know to run fast.

This guy was not so lucky.

We didn't end up getting a chance to go inside the museum.
I wish I could draw like this!

This is an amazing 4-stencil job.

Even a junk van can be art!

Here's some graffiti in a residential neighborhood near Little Burgundy.

The fork of division is useless to drink the soup of unity.

The last day we saw this cool sky mouth!

Montreal - La Grande Roue

La Grande Roue is the tallest observation wheel in Canada. We went there.

It is something like 60 meters tall.

Here is Luna already enjoying the trip.

The cars are enclosed and air-conditioned.

Then we grabbed lunch.
